What happens in Vegas…

…shows up on this blog.

The Mad Hatter and I celebrated our second (holy crap, where did the time go) wedding anniversary this past weekend. Both of us were REALLY feeling the need to get out of town, so we took advantage of the long weekend and booked it for Vegas. We got an awesome rate for a condo, and wow, was it nice. The shower was to die for! Not only was the bathroom split into two rooms, but each room had its own shower. One had a tub/shower, but the main shower, wow. It was huge! And it had TWO shower heads!!! We each had our own half of the shower to use, or to share…whatever we were in the mood for. 🙂 As soon as we get our own house, we are remodeling the master bath so we have a heavenly shower like that one. I was completely smitten.

Friday we spent all day at the Ditch Friday pool party at the Palms. I was afraid that I’d stick out like a sore thumb with my tiny boobies, but I felt surprisingly comfortable running around in my bikini amongst all the plastic Vegas girls. (Thank God for spray tans!) It was SOOOO hot – we spent the whole time in the pool, cocktails in hand. That night, we had dinner at Fin at the Mirage. That had to have been some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in years, and the service was excellent! After dinner we had a couple drinks at the Revolution Lounge, followed by a show!!! Afterwards, we got the hookup with a VIP table at Rain. We were SO not into the crappy 90’s hip-hop though, and headed back to our hotel.

Saturday we hung out at the old strip. Wow, has it gotten ghetto.  Downtown is not the laid-back, fun place we remembered, so we decided not to stay for the 4th of July festivities. It was off to the M Resort for their free party. WOW, is that place nice!!! It’s like the designer’s casino – very classy and elegant, and not overdone. Everyone there seemed normal, down to earth, and not pretentious. The fireworks show was down by the pool. They had a steel drum band playing, breezes blowing through the palms, and I finally felt like I was really on vacation. After the festivities we had dinner at Marinelli’s. SO good. Their roasted peppers appetizer was KILLER! That buffalo cheese was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I definitely am going back to the M!!!

All in all it was an awesome weekend. I’m honestly hoping to get pregnant in August (as if you can really plan these things), but who knows…maybe some magic happened in Vegas. 😉

These past two years of marriage have been awesome – when I got married I really didn’t think anything would change since we’d already been together for so many years – but things really have become even better. I love him so much, I can’t imagine not having him around. I can’t wait for 2 more years, and 2 more after that, and after that, and after that….
